Meet Our Staff
Why Chiropractic?
Dr. Diana's first experience in chiropractic was at the age of 14 following a fall. Chiropractic care not only helped her heal from the fall injury, but ultimately helped resolve chronic leg pain she'd had since the age of nine. Being active in therapeutic horseback riding, a part-time job, marching band, and other activities, chiropractic care helped her stay active and out of pain. Being diagnosed with thyroid disease at the age of 11, her exploration and research into thyroid conditions, fibromyalgia and diabetes has given Dr. Diana the knowledge and experience to help guide patients through care in a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner.
Dr. Diana's medical background allows her to be more proficient in diagnosis and helping patients get the care they need regardless of whether that care occurs in the office, or in the office of a trusted colleague or professional. Dr. Diana especially takes interest in diabetes care and prevention, thyroid conditions, chronic conditions like fibromyalgia and disc bulges, and acute injuries like falls, automobile collisions, and disc herniations. She loves co-caring for pregnant moms, helping them through changes, and allowing them experience their pregnancy in a positive, fulfilling and empowering manner.
"When I was 25, I was a mess. I was working in veterinary surgery and emergency 60-80 hours a week. I shoved any kind of food into my mouth between surgeries or emergencies, and slammed diet cokes to stay awake. I woke up in pain, and went to sleep in pain. We hid a 1000 count bottle of ibuprofen in our surgery suite and people didn't think we'd finish it by its expiration date. Boy did we prove them wrong! I pre-medicated in the morning because if I didn't already hurt, I knew I would. I was taking ibuprofen 3-4 times a day, just to get by. At 25, I was told I had fibromyalgia, mind you at this point, many doctors didn't even think this was a thing. At 27 I had my gallbladder removed due to stones because I was living off fast food. I was on and off my thyroid medication - never really feeling an difference on or off them. I started anti-anxiety and depression medications next, and 3 months before my 30th birthday, I was told I had type 2 diabetes. I was miserable and I was a mess. I knew something needed to change and I was barely functioning."
I decided to become a chiropractor for a few reasons. I realized how medications, and surgery only allowed myself to continue to abuse my body. I saw many people around me dependent on medications to the point of addiction and abuse. Working in biomedical research, I saw the prevention was really key in avoiding many of the complicating ailments I was involved in researching. Years later, with the help of chiropractic, I am living my life without medications, and without numerous doctor's visits.
When I first went to Logan, I was motivated by my experience and how chiropractic helped me. As a chiropractor now, I'm continuously motivated by my patients -- doing the work right along with them, living the best example I can, seeing others make similar changes, and over time succeeding at their goals. There is nothing more rewarding.
